Joe Casali Engineering, Inc. (JCE) was retained by the Town of North Smithfield, Rhode Island to assist the Town in submitting annual reports as required by the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management’s (RIDEM) Rhode Island Pollutant Discharge System (RIPDES) to comply with the Environmental Protection Agency’s Phase II of the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Stormwater Program for “small” Municipal Separate Sewer Systems (MS4s).
JCE was responsible for research and preparation of the application required by the RIPDES General Permit for Stormwater Discharge from Small MS4s and from Industrial Activity at Eligible Facilities Operated by Regulated Small MS4s. Other responsibilities include annually evaluating the compliance of the Stormwater Management Program Plan (SWMPP) with the conditions of the General Permit, as well as the appropriateness of the selected Best Management Practices (BMPs) and efforts towards achieving the various Measurable Goals.
Joe Casali Engineering, Inc. (JCE) was contracted by the Town of South Kingstown, Parks and Recreation Department, to provide geotechnical recommendations and to design site improvements and utility connections for the construction of a 29,175 square foot Town Recreational Center off of St. Dominic Road in South Kingstown, RI.
JCE’S responsibilities included compiling topographic survey, administering a geotechnical exploration program, preparing a comprehensive geotechnical recommendations report, performing soil evaluations for stormwater management design, site design and permitting and preparation of construction documents. In addition, JCE coordinated wetland delineation through its sub-consultant, Natural Resource Services, Inc. Proposed site improvements include a new parking lot, pedestrian walkways, drainage appurtenances, and sewer and water utility services.
Joe Casali Engineering, Inc. (JCE) was engaged by the Town of Burrillville to provide civil engineering services for the demolition and restoration of the Brown House on Spring Lake in Burrillville, Rhode Island. JCE coordinated with and managed several sub-consultants, including International Mapping & Surveying Corp. for site survey and Natural Resource Services, Inc. for wetland delineations. The civil design included a new parking area, a concrete retaining wall extension and general drainage and site improvements associated with the demolition of the existing building and construction of a new 1,100 square foot 1-1/2 story storage building.
In addition, JCE permitted the project through the Burrillville Town Council, the Burrillville Historical Preservation Society, the Burrillville Fire Department, Burrillville Water, Burrillville Sewer and the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management Division of Freshwater Wetlands.
Joe Casali Engineering, Inc. (JCE) was retained by the Union Fire District to complete engineering services for several fire stations located in South Kingstown, RI. JCE designed the site improvements and onsite wastewater treatment system (OWTS) for the proposed addition and building renovations to Station 8 in Tuckertown. JCE was responsible for procuring permits from the RIDEM Office of Water Resources, Town of South Kingstown Soil Erosion and Town of South Kingstown Development Plan Review. In addition, JCE performed construction phase services.
JCE prepared a Preliminary Site Due Diligence Report and site layouts for Station 6 on Tower Hill Road and Station 7 in Matunuck. The site due diligence included wetland delineation, soil evaluations, zoning analysis, and preliminary site concepts. JCE also completed a preliminary site concepts for the Union Fire District headquarters on Asa Pond Road.
