Joe Casali Engineering, Inc. (JCE) was contracted by Sarchi Group Management and Construction to prepare site development plans and permitting documents for a proposed six-story, 76-room hotel in Providence, Rhode Island. Associated site improvements include a two-story structured parking deck, a stormwater management system, new utility connections and landscape improvements. In addition, JCE provided professional geotechnical engineering services. JCE executed a comprehensive geotechnical exploration program including observation and documentation of three (3) deep (>100’) borings.
JCE’s responsibilities included preparing plans and documents to obtain permits from the City of Providence Planning Department, City Plan Commission, City of Providence Fire Department, Providence Water Supply Board for a Water Connection Permit, Narragansett Bay Commission (NBC) for a Sewer Connection Permit and Stormwater Connection Permit, and the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management (RIDEM) for a Groundwater Discharge Permit (GDP).
Joe Casali Engineering, Inc. (JCE) is currently under contract with Roger Williams University (RWU) for the preparation of site plans and permitting documents for a proposed 10,200 square foot School of Engineering, Computing and Construction Management Experiential Learning Center. Proposed site improvements include the construction of sidewalks, retaining walls, drainage and utility services.
JCE’s responsibilities include preparing plans and documents to facilitate permits from Bristol County Water Authority, Bristol Sewer Department, Coastal Resource Management Council (CRMC), and the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management (RIDEM) Office of Water Resources. Other responsibilities include providing construction documents, bidding assistance and construction administration as needed.
In addition, JCE provided professional geotechnical engineering services. JCE observed and documented five (5) borings.
Joe Casali Engineering, Inc. (JCE) was contracted by A & R One, LLC to design a 4-lot Major Land Development project located on Douglas Pike between Limerock Road and Harris Road. The project consists of a 28-unit, Mixed-Use, Multi-Family Residential Development which included six (6) affordable housing units. In addition, the project also included a design of three (3) “pad ready” commercial lots abutting Douglas Pike. Other site improvements include utility services, a new roadway, and stormwater management
JCE’s responsibilities included preparing site plans and documents to facilitate obtaining permits from the Town of Smithfield Zoning Board, Town of Smithfield Planning Board, Smithfield Water Supply Board, Smithfield Sewer Authority, Smithfield Soil Erosion Control Committee, the Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) Physical Alteration Permit (PAPA) and the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management (RIDEM) Office of Water Resources.
Joe Casali Engineering, Inc. (JCE) was contracted by Ridge Properties, LLC to design a 31-unit residential community (including 9 units of low to moderate income housing) on approximately 6 acres of land in Smithfield, Rhode Island. JCE designed the layout for the residential subdivision including 850 linear feet of new roadway. A stormwater management plan was designed to control stormwater runoff and to provide water quality improvements. Stormwater controls incorporated include a closed drainage system, three (3) sand filters, a detention pond, and outlet controls.
JCE procured permits from the Smithfield Water Supply Board, Smithfield Sewer Authority, Smithfield Soil Erosion Control Committee, and the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management for a Rhode Island Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (RIPDES) permit.
Joe Casali Engineering, Inc. (JCE) was contracted by Coventry Land Company to design a 75 lot residential subdivision on approximately 62 acres of land in Coventry, Rhode Island. JCE designed the layout for the 75 lot residential subdivision including 6,300 linear feet of new roadway. A stormwater management plan was designed to control runoff and provide water quality improvements. Stormwater controls incorporated include a closed drainage system, swales, detention ponds, and outlet controls. JCE procured permits from the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management Division of Freshwater Wetlands, Kent County Water Authority (KCWA), and the Town of Coventry Planning Engineering Departments.
JCE’s responsibilities also included the design and permitting of utilities. Water service design included 7,200 linear feet of water main and service connections for the proposed homes which were permitted through the KCWA.
Joe Casali Engineering, Inc. (JCE) was retained by ABM Group, LLC to provide site engineering and landscape architectural services for the Stedman Government Center located in South Kingstown, Rhode Island. The site engineering component incorporated parking lot improvements in order to accommodate additional parking and provide circulation. The design included a new parking configuration, roadway widening, installation of curbing, pavement replacement and overlay striping. The new parking provided an additional 28 spaces.
The landscape architectural component included preparation of planning plans and specifications for new landscaping to comply with the new parking layout. The planting plan was comprised of native and drought tolerant trees, shrubs, and groundcover. The design enhanced the arrival sequence to the Government Center and to the new parking layout. Many of the plant selections were driven by the Rhode Island Coastal Resource Management Council’s Coastal Plant Guide, and the landscape is a representation of those planting guidelines.
