Joe Casali Engineering, Inc. (JCE) was contracted by Anchor Subaru to prepare site development plans and documents associated with a new 40,000 square foot full-service Anchor Subaru Dealership, repurposing of the existing Anchor Subaru Dealership, and an addition to the existing Anchor Nissan Dealership. Proposed site improvements included new parking lots, grading and drainage, landscaping, utility services and a community Onsite Waste Water Treatment System (OWTS). Site features were designed in accordance with North Smithfield Zoning and Land Development Regulations as well as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). JCE’s responsibilities included preparing plans and documents to obtain permits from the Town of North Smithfield Zoning Board, Town of North Smithfield Planning Board (PBR), North Smithfield Water Department, RI Department of Transportation (RIDOT), and the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management (RIDEM).
In addition, JCE provided professional geotechnical engineering services. JCE executed a comprehensive geotechnical exploration program which included observation and documentation of twenty-two (22) borings. JCE provided construction and construction phase services that included shop drawing reviews, site inspections, responses to contractor requests for information and issuance of SK-DWGs.
JCE designed site improvements for a 10, 322 square foot building addition to an existing Benny’s Store on Putnam Pike in Smithfield, Rhode Island.
JCE completed the site design including a parking lot layout, grading of the site, and a drainage design.
JCE also permitted the project through the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management, the Rhode Island Department of Transportation and the Smithfield Planning and Zoning Boards of Review, and the Smithfield Soil Erosion Committee.
JCE studied the existing drainage system within the Kingston Campus and identified major deficiencies which cause localized flooding and water quality degradation.
A hydrologic/hydraulic model of the White Horn Brook was created to simulate flooding during rainstorm events. Remedial alternatives were modeled to assess potential impacts.
JCE then developed a report for the University which serves to provide policies and objectives for future improvement and expansion of the storm drainage system.
JCE designed a residential subdivision on an approximately 6.5-acre piece of land in Johnston, Rhode Island. JCE evaluated existing conditions and designed the layout for a 9-lot subdivision.
A stormwater management plan was designed to control runoff and provide water quality improvements. Stormwater controls incorporated a closed drainage system, infiltration basin and outlet controls.
